Breastlight
Current figures show that a staggering 1 in 9 of us will be diagnosed with breast cancer and quite frankly we just need to become more 'breast aware'. Breast self examination is a bit like pelvic floor exercising, we know we should do it, but we just forget or we're not too sure how to do it. Help is at hand with the Breastlight - it's a new product that allows you to see inside your breasts. Its a hand held tool for use by woman at home to aid breast awareness, simply by shining the light through the breast tissue you can check your breasts - so as well as feeling for lumps and bumps you can also see if there are any dark spots or shadows. these should be followed up with a doctor. Breastlight is not an alternative to attending mammogram screening. With the breastlight over 80% of women have told us they feel more confident and more aware of their breasts. We call this enlightened breast awareness as one user said: 'I was completely amazed at being able to look inside my breasts. I found it easy to use and what the fingers cannot perhaps detect, the eye can see.'
how to use it
Breastlight is a simple and easy to use product. The key points are:
- Choose a room that you can make as dark as possible
- You may apply a lubricant to your skin
- Turn on Breastlight under one of your breasts and look down
- Turn on the Breatlight and press tightly against your skin The light will become brighter on contact with skin
- Check all areas – including under the arms and high on the chest
- Use a mirror so you can see more
There are four different brightness settings. Use the top button on your Breastlight to change the brightness level.Try all the brightness settings until you find the one that is right for you. If the light is too low then you will not be able to see the veins in your breast. If it is too high you won’t be able to see the fine details
