If you require a repeat prescription, you’ll understand how inconvenient and sometimes time-consuming it can sometimes be to order and collect your prescription.
Wouldn’t it be great if someone could do the hard work for you? Well with the NHS Repeat Prescriptions online service from Rowlands Pharmacy, that’s exactly what we do!
All you have to do is register online with our NHS Repeat Prescription service, send us your repeat prescription, and then once you’re set up, you can request your repeat prescription online from us and we’ll deliver it to your preferred address. Not only that, but we’ll remind you every time your prescription is due, to help ensure that you don’t run out of your medication.
We’re sure you’d love to hear more about how our fantastic NHS Repeat Prescription service works, so we’ve explained it in more detail below. Here’s our step by step guide on how to use the service, and take advantage of the most convenient way to manage your repeat prescriptions:
Step 1: Set up your NHS Repeat Prescriptions order
Our online Prescriptions service allows you to order a single NHS prescription
, a repeat NHS prescription, or a private prescription from us, for delivery to an address that suits you. When you have been given your repeat prescription slip by your GP, visit our Prescriptions
page, and choose the ‘NHS Repeat Prescriptions’ option to start setting up your repeat prescription order with us.
Step 2: Give us your GP’s details
Next, you’ll need to tell us the details of your GP who has given you your repeat prescription slip. That includes their name, surgery address and telephone number. Please note that we are only able to dispense repeat prescriptions that have been written by a UK registered doctor.
Step 3: Sign into, or set up your Rowlands Pharmacy online account
If you’re already a registered Rowlands Pharmacy customer, the next step is that you’ll need to sign into your account. If you aren’t yet registered with us, then click the ‘Registration Form’ link to do so. Once you’ve signed in or registered as a customer with us, you’ll be taken back to the NHS Repeat Prescription service registration form.
Step 4: Tell us whether you’re exempt from payment
Next, on the ‘NHS Charges’ page we’ll ask you whether or not you pay for your NHS Prescriptions. If you do not, you’ll be asked to specify why you are exempt. If you do pay for your prescriptions, you’ll be asked to give us some more details about the number and type of medications on your repeat prescription so we can calculate the charges.
Step 5: Fill in your personal details and delivery address
The fifth step in the set-up process is to give us your personal details, including the address where you’d like us to deliver your repeat prescriptions. This could be your home address, but it could even be your workplace, or the address of a trusted friend or family member if that’s where you’d prefer or is more convenient for you.
Step 6: Confirm your online prescriptions order and check out
We’ll now ask you to confirm your NHS Repeat Prescriptions order details and delivery address, and will show you the total cost of your prescription order if that is applicable. Simply confirm these details, and if you are required to pay, we’ll direct you to a form to input your payment details.
Step 7: Send us your repeat prescription slip
Now that you’ve placed your first order for a repeat prescription with us, all you have to do is send your repeat prescription slip (the white component of your prescription slip) to us at the following address:
Rowlands Internet Pharmacy
Step 8: We will email you when your repeat prescription slip arrives
Once your repeat prescription slip arrives with us, we’ll email you to confirm that we have received it and to check that you’d like us to send your prescription slip to your doctor.
Please note, we ask that you then wait 10 working days from getting your initial prescription before attempting to place an order for a repeat prescription with us – this is because you need to leave a certain amount of time between prescriptions, and also so that we have time to set up your repeat prescription with your doctor.
Step 9: We’ll process your repeat prescription and send it out to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery
Once we have received your order for a repeat prescription, we request this from your doctor, and order your medication right away. As soon as your doctor has returned your repeat prescription to us and we have received your medication, we will send it out to your preferred address via Royal Mail Special Delivery, so you’ll receive it the next day.
Step 10: We’ll automatically remind you when your next repeat prescription is due to be ordered
After you order your first NHS Repeat Prescription with Rowlands Pharmacy, we’ll set up an automatic email reminder for you when your next repeat prescription is due to be ordered. You may also like to know that when you place your order for a repeat prescription, you can let us know if you need it on a particular day – we’ll send your order the day before so that it arrives with you just when you need it.
