In one of our most recent blog posts we shared our top five reasons to order your prescriptions online, and below we’ll explain how to do it. Registering to order your NHS Prescriptions online is a really simple process, and once you’ve done that, it takes just a few minutes to place your order. Here is our step-by-step guide to registering to order your NHS Prescriptions online at Rowlands Pharmacy.

Step 1: Choose the online prescription service that you need

At Rowlands Pharmacy, you can order NHS Prescriptions online from us whether you need a single prescription, or a repeat prescription. To register to use our online prescription service, go to our Prescriptions page and choose the service that you require to begin the registration process.

Step 2: Tell us your GP’s details

The second stage of the registration process is to input your GP’s name, surgery address and telephone number. You’ll also need to tell us whether your prescription was written by a UK registered doctor – if not, we won’t be able to dispense your prescription.

Step 3: Sign into, or set up your Rowlands Pharmacy web account

If you’re already a registered Rowlands Pharmacy customer, here you’ll need to sign into your account to continue the set-up process. If you aren’t yet registered, then click ‘Registration Form’ to do so. Once you’ve signed in or registered as a customer with us, you’ll be taken back to the online prescription service registration form.

Step 4: Let us know whether you’re exempt from payment

The next step in the process is to let us know whether you are exempt from paying for your NHS Prescriptions, and if so, to tell us the type of exemption that you have. If you pay for your prescriptions, we’ll ask for some more details about the number and type of medications on your prescription so we can calculate the charges.

Step 5: Fill in your personal details and delivery address

Now, we’ll need some personal details about yourself, as well as the preferred address to where you’d like your prescription to be delivered. This doesn’t need to be your home address; it could be your place of work or the address of a trusted friend or family member, if that’s more convenient or preferable for you.

Step 6: Confirm your online NHS Prescription order and check out

In one of the final steps of the process, we’ll display the details of your prescription order and the total cost (if applicable), as well as your chosen delivery address. All you need to do is confirm these details, and if you pay for your NHS Prescriptions, you’ll be taken to a screen to input your payment details.

Step 7: Send us your prescription slip

Once you have ordered your prescription and paid for it if required, all you need to do is pop your prescription slip in the post to us so that we can process it for you. We’ll give you your reference number which must be included in the envelope with your prescription slip, which you should send to our following freepost address:

Please note, if you’re ordering a single NHS Prescription, you will need to send us the green part of your prescription slip. If you are signing up for a repeat prescription, you will need to send us the white part.

Step 8: We process your NHS Prescription order and send it out to you

If you require a single prescription, we will order your medications and then, as soon as we have them, send them out to you for next-day delivery and email you to let you know that your order is on its way.

For repeat prescriptions, we will email you to confirm the next steps.
