Athlete's Foot

Athlete's foot is a common skin infection that affects the toes and feet. It is caused by a fungus and usually occurs when feet are continually in a moist environment, such as excessive trainer or sock wearing.

Symptoms of athlete's foot include itching, stinging, and burning between the toes and on the soles of the feet, as well as scaling, flaking, and sometimes blistering. It is highly contagious and can be spread when walking on contaminated objects and floors, such as a communal shower area.

When athlete's foot is caused by a fungus, it is usually mild and can be easily treated with antifungal medications, which are widely available from pharmacies without the need of a prescription.

Here at Rowlands Pharmacy, we stock a wide selection of athlete's foot treatments to help you get back on track. Our range includes treatments in a variety of forms, including creams, sprays and powders, such as Daktarin Aktiv Cream and Canesten Hydrocortisone Cream if your infection is accompanied by inflammation and itching.
