Athlete's Foot

Athlete's foot is a contagious, irritating, fungal infection which affects the skin of the feet, particularly in between the toes. It usually occurs when feet are continually in a moist environment, especially with excessive trainer wearing. Most people recognise athlete's foot and will ask for a treatment over the counter by name.

• Wash your feet morning and night.
• Dry the feet thoroughly, particularly in between the toes.
• Use a separate towel for the affected area.
• Wear a clean pair of cotton socks each day.
• Use the preferred treatment for the stipulated time. Ask our pharmacist if you are unsure.
• Use athlete's foot powder to prevent re-infection.
• Diabetics should ask the pharmacist to check their feet before treatment.
• If symptoms do not improve in 3 months, ask our pharmacist for advice.
